Our engagement with you begins with an on-site meeting to review your project job site, questionnaire and style guide. This will be an opportunity for you to share what you want to accomplish through your design project and for us to begin learning your preferred style.


During this meeting, we will collect the project scope details in order to send you a detailed scope of work proposal that outlines the design tasks by room, and an estimate of our hours and design fees. This proposal will articulate your project’s design goals and the specific steps we will take to achieve them.


The Pre-Design phase begins with a signed proposal, contract and submitted deposit. The first step in this phase is to schedule a measure appointment, where we will collect the final scope of information needed to create concept design boards for your project.


You will have the opportunity to review the concept boards and provide your feedback. With your project goals and the design parameters as a foundation, we’ll be able to schedule your project start date and create an outline for your project timeline.

We will begin with a space plan to develop the best layout for your design. We will also create a presentation board, which will feature individual design elements (furniture, drapes, paint, fabric, accessories, etc.) for your review.


These boards are shared to give you an overall feel for the space and to facilitate our communication about the evolving project. Once design drawings have been completed and all materials and fixtures selected, we will schedule your design presentations to review all aspects of the design and make collaborative revisions as needed.


When you've approved everything presented, it is time to start the purchasing process. We will prepare a proposal that itemizes all selected design elements and send to you for approval. Once approved, we will create invoices, collect payment and purchase all materials and products needed for your design project.


After ordering is complete, we will also manage the scheduling of deliveries to ensure all items are accounted for and arrive damage-free. Regular walkthrough dates will be held with the designer and contractor to oversee the project progress, and once the project is complete, HCD will have a final site visit to confirm that all items have been addressed and the job is to the client's satisfaction.
